Google accidentally deletes its blog

Google has admitted that it accidentally deleted its own official blog on Monday night. “We’ve determined the cause of tonight’s outage. The blog was mistakenly deleted by us (d’oh!) which allowed the blog address to be temporarily claimed by another user. This was not a hack, and nobody guessed our password. Our bad,” Jason Goldman, Blogger Product Manager, wrote in a posting on the Google Blog. Apparently, the Google Blog was unavailable for a short time on Monday.

Google’s New UI

The new UI sports information on results in other sections (images, groups, froogle and news) that core users don’t tend to use. The new UI also cleans up the head of the page (significantly), and loses the light blue background bar indicating which page users are on.

To view the new UI, follow these simple steps…

1. Head over to google.com
2. In the address bar, paste one of the javascript commands
3. Enter a search query, and voila!

US:
javascript:alert(document.cookie="PREF=ID=fb7740f107311e46:TM=1142683332:LM=1142683332:S=fNSw6ljXTzvL3dWu;path=/;domain=.google.com")

UK:
javascript:alert(document.cookie="PREF=ID=fb7740f107311e46:TM=1142683332:LM=1142683332:S=fNSw6ljXTzvL3dWu;path=/;domain=.google.co.uk")

NL:

Microsoft Live Messenger Invite

A new version of MSN Messenger is one of the projects currently being worked on
by the Windows Live team. The beta version, ostensibly called MSN
Messenger 8 but referred to in many places as “Windows Live Messenger,” has so
far been available for use only by invitation. Beta test users could send e-mail
invites to their friends, but there was no way for the general public to test
the service.

But this link will take you to the invitation acceptance page. ;)
